Welcome to IAPFS
IAPFS is an association of regional Plumeria and Frangipani Societies whose goal is to support regular Frangifest conferences and to further international interest in the flowering tree called Plumeria or Frangipani.
The first Frangifest was sponsored by the Frangipani Society of Australia and was held on the Gold Coast of Australia (just South of Brisbane) in January of 2005. All who attended the first Frangifest agreed it would be valuable to have a Frangifest on a regular basis. Additionally, the FSA thought it would be best to have other societies become involved in sponsoring and supporting the Frangifest in the future. The International Association of Plumeria and Frangipani Societies was formed and was charged by the FSA with the responsibility to insure that a Frangifest is held somewhere in the world every two or three years.
There is no financial cost to a society to belong to the IAPFS. Any Plumeria or Frangipani society that will commit to support the Frangifest with assistance, speakers or other resources and will commit to be responsible for a future Frangifest is invited to join.
Besides the opportunity to assist in future Frangifests, the dues paying members of the associated societies will receive discounts on all Frangifest materials and activities including a reduced cost to attend Frangifest. Any society that desires to become a member of this association may email societies@iapfs.org for more details.
